West Bank
West Bank is a documentary project that explores the Israeli-Palestinian border in the Middle East. The project is developed in an unstable and artificial cartography that has gone through periods of conflict and post-conflict for tens of centuries. Like an unfinished map, the landscape of the Middle East is constantly reconstructed from the past, generating layers of time and conflict that are superimposed, making the trace of war even more complex.
West Bank is situated in an suspended area between Palestine and Israel where the border is not only a wall or a military post, but also a territory with a thick border, allowing transit within the frontier. The project generates a space where it is possible to think about places that are not meant to be borders; entire architectures that are not intended to be a check-point or a wall create places of simulation where the war is not disputed through weapons.
